“The prestige one gets from winning The Masters is very great indeed. As for the beauty, the course stands far superior to anything I have ever played.” - Seve Ballesteros
📰 THE MASTERS: Edition #42 📰
Hello Friends…Welcome back to The 2nd Cut Newsletter!
📫 In today’s Newsletter: The Masters, TV Schedules, Betting Stats, Azalea Cocktail, Viktor Hovland, Augusta Optical Illusions, and More
ICYMI, check out last week’s Deep Dive: WITB: What’s In The Bag? I go through my current clubs with insight on why I added a 7-wood, got rid of my 3-Hybrid, Play 50/54/58 Wedges, and more.
The greatest week in sports and golf is finally here—a tradition unlike any other.
This year's Masters is filled with numerous compelling storylines, further enriching an already unparalleled history.
Will Scottie continue to dominate and win his 2nd Major and Green Jacket?
Will the LIV guys make a run? Brooks, Rahm, DJ, and Cam Smith want to prove they can still compete with the PGA.
Can Xander finally pull through in the end and get the W? Or maybe it’s Wyndham Clark's time to shine?
Will Rory be able to get out of his head and finally complete the career grand slam?
Can Spieth get the magic back?
Or maybe the young guns like Will Zalatoris, Ludvig Aberg, Sahith Theegala, Jake Knapp, or Min Woo Lee will make history.
And that’s all before we even get to Tiger and Phil. Can Tiger’s body hold up and make it to Sunday? If Tiger makes the cut he will hold the record for most consecutive Masters cuts made ever at 24.
And how about Phil, who came in 2nd last year! You know he’s looking to prove he still has it.
I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.

🐦 Tweets of the Week 🐦
Scottie has been off the charts good this year. I think all the guys on this list have a shot, but Si Woo Kim and Thomas were a bit of a surprise.
I like this list for Top 10 and 20 bets. For more betting stats check out the Stat of the Week section towards the end.

This one is for Steph, Hannah, and Jenn. Viktor Hovland is not only one of the best players in the world but has one of the most unique personalities in golf. Check out the video above to learn more about what makes Hovland tick. (5:20 min)
Check out this piece by LKD on what makes Augusta National so confusing to the eye. Some fascinating aspects of the course I never thought about.
“There are also lots of slopes, though. And therein lies the problem for players, who begin instinctively using the surrounding terrain to judge other slopes. That’s what creates the illusion.
A sloping green may look less sloping compared to the more severe hills surrounding it. Other times, two slopes surrounding a flat green may make the green look like it’s sloping in an entirely different direction, even though it remains flat.”
🍹 Azalea Cocktail Recipe 🍹
Many online recipes say to use pineapple juice and freshly squeezed lemon, but this is the OFFICIAL Masters recipe straight from Augusta.
Below is a photo from our Masters Party last year. Unfortunately, it was the day the play was suspended. But the drinks were good 🍹
