The Masters Wrap Up
Scottie Scheffler gets it done. Scottie never seemed to stress and always came through when he needed to, cruising to a 4-stroke victory over Ludvig Aberg.
On Saturday and early Sunday, it looked like Ludvig Aberg, Max Homa, and Colin Morikawa would all give Scottie a run for his money. However, the competition slowly fell away except for the young Ludvig Aberg, who eventually did the same despite a valiant effort for the first-timer.
Scottie is already the heavy favorite to win the PGA Championship and the US Open at around 4 to 1 odds.
🐦 Tweets of the Week 🐦
I watched this live, and it was so cool to see Charlie helping his dad figure out some things on the range Sunday at The Masters. Hopefully, in a few years, we’ll see Charlie playing in The Masters and Tiger working with him on the range.

This quick 5-minute clip of Scottie Scheffler discussing his mental growth since the 2022 Masters win gives a little bit of a window into who he is as a person. I think it goes hand in hand with his ability to play well consistently.
Will this dominance continue? We’ve seen this with Rory, Rahm, and Spieth before, and we know how that ended.
I have a feeling this time is different.
Dan Grieves chipping videos are so detailed. Here’s another masterclass with Dan and YouTube Golfer Rick Shiels, who is a pretty golfer in his own right. (3 min)
He works on Rick’s grip pressure, lengthening his back swing, and using his body to rotate more and be less handsy.
I’m biased, but Dan’s methods have resonated with me and I’m chipping better than ever.

The Scottie Shuffle… now seen on ranges across the country 😂
🔢 Stat of the Week 🔢
This chart from Jamie Kennedy is a great visual for some of the more dominant runs we’ve seen in the past.
It obviously shows us what we already know: Tiger and Jack were the GOATs right out of the gate. But it also shows how we’ve seen similar runs to Scotties before. Rory, Rahm, Spieth, and Brooks all had stretches of dominance. Rorys was probably the one we all thought was the next Tiger, and although he’s still a top player, he couldn’t continue that pace.
I think Scottie is different. His game and personality seem to be made for consistency. It’ll be fascinating to see.

Til next time.
+1 for Dan Grieves' short game techniques: his techniques are simple, repeatable, and reliable.
